1 - Maprika & Trace Snow

Maprika app to download on your smartphone

Maprika (iOS and Android)

Maprika links up with your map apps (Google Maps etc.) and allows you to download run maps of your resort directly to your phone, so you can access them even if you’re without signal.
The app also allows you to find the location of friends and family on the mountain, so you can then set up meeting points, which is very handy for arranging your lunch break.

Trace Snow app to download on your smartphone

Trace Snow (iOS and Android)

This highly popular app tracks your slope performance, whether you’re a skier or snowboarder.
Trace Snow calculates everything from air time to calories burned. If you mount it on the outside of your ski wear or even on your equipment, it can also sync with your GoPro to automatically upload footage from your slope session.

2 - Ski Tracks & SkiFit

Ski Tracks app to download on your smartphone

Ski Tracks (iOS and Android)

This extremely battery-efficient app does the basics, but it does them extremely well and all without draining your phone.
Ski Tracks can monitor all of your performance stats and has the ability to sync with an Apple Watch too, so you can keep an eye on your progress without getting your phone out on the mountain.

SkiFit app to download on your smartphone

SkiFit (iOS and Android)

This app allows you to get ski-ready with physiotherapist Neil Maclean-Martin.
SkiFit, a free app, comes packed with eight-minute workout routines suitable for any level of skier, and are designed to have you in peak piste condition by the time you hit the slopes.

3 - Ski & Snow Report & Fatmap

Ski & Snow Report app to download on your smartphone

Ski & Snow Report (iOS and Android)

This is the most downloaded ski app out there and for very good reason.
OnTheSnow’s clever functionality offers snow reports from over 2,000 ski regions around the world, including first-hand reports from other users who are right there in the thick of it.

Fatmap (iOS and Android)

Fatmap (iOS and Android)

It might sound like a guide to the best fondues in Switzerland, but this gem is actually one of the most detailed 3D map apps on the market.
The standard version is free, but the premium version is definitely worth the small outlay. The extra features include hi-definition satellite imagery of the slopes, gradient mapping, and crevasse and avalanche zones alerts.
