Extend the summer with your four-legged friend. At Club Med Vittel Ermitage Resort, we know that your dog is more than just a pet: it's a member of the family. From September, our new ‘dog package’ allows you to holiday in the Vosges with a free spirit, without having to say goodbye to your faithful companion.
When you arrive, a cosy basket and a treat will be waiting for him in your room to make him feel at home from the very first moment. Enjoy the natural beauty of the Vittel Park on a walk with your dog and share all the best moments of your stay by his side. Everything has been planned so that your dog will also have an unforgettable holiday.
A few rules apply to ensure a pleasant stay together: Your dog must remain on a lead in all indoor and outdoor communal areas and must be transported in a bag in the restaurant.
This service is offered before your stay, so be sure to book in advance so that your dog can accompany you (reservations only with youre travel agency / by phone, subject to availability).

What additional services are included?
- A comfortable basket, bowls and a treat in the room.
- A personalised welcome card for you and your dog.
- A dog-friendly walk once a week for a stroll through the Vittel park.
Restrictions for dogs: size, weight, breed, number.
- Size and weight: maximum 20kg, small and medium-sized dogs.
- Restrictions on the breeds we do not accept:
- breeds that are considered potentially dangerous (according to certain legislation, such as category 1 and 2 in France): Pitbulls, American Staffordshire Terrier (Amstaff), Tosa Inu, Rottweiler, Mastiff (Boerboel), Dogo Argentino (Argentine Mastiff), Fila Brasileiro.
- Large dogs that can cause problems in the house: St Bernard, Newfoundland, Leonberger, Neapolitan Mastiff, Irish Wolfhound.
- breeds whose temperament is considered difficult or unpredictable: Chow Chow (can be territorial), Akita Inu (very dominant), Doberman (protective and imposing), Malinois (energetic, needs a lot of attention).
- Maximum 15 dogs in the resort; 1 dog per customer file.
Guidelines for access to the resort
- Fitness: no access
- Swimming pool: no access
- Restaurant: access to restaurant with carrier bag required.
Dogs must be kept on a lead in all areas of the resort (indoor and outdoor areas).
A contingent of rooms that do not accommodate dogs will be guaranteed pet allergen free for the entire season.

How does the stay with your dog work?
Your dog may accompany you in your room and in the communal indoor and outdoor areas, provided it is kept on a lead at all times.
In the restaurant, it is accepted in a special area, but only if it is transported in a suitable basket.
Dogs are not allowed in certain areas, e.g. the fitness centre and swimming pool.
Which animals are accepted in Vittel?
Only dogs, subject to weight and breed conditions.

How does the dog package at Vittel Ermitage work?
1. when is the service offered?
The service will be available at the Vittel Ermitage resort from 6 September 2025 to 2 November 2025.
We cannot guarantee that it will also be available in 2026 or at other resorts... at this time.
2. how much does this service cost?
The "dog package" costs the equivalent of €30 per night per dog, including the special equipment and additional cleaning costs.
3. what are the options for booking the service?
The "dog package" can only be booked through your agency or our call centre.
It cannot be booked via our website.
4. which animals are allowed in Vittel Ermitage?
Only dogs are allowed in the resort. With a restriction on size, weight and breed.
5. what is included in the "dog package"?
In the room: a basket, two bowls and an absorbent mat.
For your pet: a free toy or treat.
Activity: 1 hike per week where dogs are allowed. This is offered by our hiking provider GRAVEL UP. (Subject to authorisation).
On request at reception: bag for dog faeces, equipment for cleaning paws.
6. is dog food available at the resort?
We do not provide dog food and it is not available for sale.
Please bring the required amount of food for your stay.
7. which dogs are allowed at Club Med Vittel Ermitage?
Only small and medium-sized dogs weighing less than 20kg are accepted.
Prohibited breeds include those that are considered potentially dangerous, are large or have an unpredictable temperament.
8. how is it checked that the dog complies with the restrictions (size, weight, breed)?
Vaccination and health certificates for dogs are obligatory when staying at the resort. These state the weight, breed and size of the dog. A systematic check is carried out at check-in. The guidelines are very strict and any guest whose dog does not meet the guidelines will be turned away at check-in. A pre-stay call will also be made for each booking with a dog, to check the pet's compliance prior to the stay.
9. which areas of the resort will my dog have access to?
Dogs on a leash are allowed in most areas of the resort, except :
- In the restaurant: only allowed in the La Rotonde room in a carrier bag.
- In the fitness room: no access.
- At the pool: access prohibited.
10. can I take part in the resort's activities with my dog?
There is a weekly hike where dogs are accepted.
Other activities organised by the resort are not accessible to dogs.
11. what rules must you follow with your dog at the resort?
Pick up after your dog.
Respect cleanliness (clean paws).
Keep your dog on a leash in all areas.
12. can I leave my dog alone in the room?
The dog can be left alone, except during grooming.
Avoid leaving it alone in the event of unpredictable behaviour, so as not to run the risk of disturbing guests.
13. my dog has special needs (illness, age). Can I take advantage of special assistance?
The resort does not provide special assistance for pets.
A veterinary clinic is located near the resort in the town of Vittel.
14. how is cleaning carried out in rooms where dogs are accommodated?
- During the stay: Reservation of the cleaning time slot 24 hours in advance at the reception, absence of the dog required.
- Between two stays: thorough cleaning with special equipment and rotation of the rooms.
15. what can I do if I am allergic to dog hair?
Only 30% of the rooms in the resort will accommodate dogs. The majority of rooms will not accommodate dogs throughout the season. Please indicate your allergies at the time of booking so that we can allocate you a room that has never accommodated a dog.
16. is the staff trained to accommodate dogs?
Our staff are trained to deal with dogs, including the gestures and behaviours they must adopt and the specific cleaning protocols.
