Sunny Spain is known for good weather and summer temperatures. And May is one of the best months for a holiday in the Andalusian sun. Temperatures reach an average of 20° to 26°C in the afternoons and there's little rain.
 
And the best thing is the sea temperature, which is around 18.6°C on average. The pools at Club Med Magna Marbella are even warmer!

An unmissable feria!
May is a key time for Andalusian festivals. So, travel from town to town across the region and discover the culture. Pack comfortable shoes and a schedule for a colourful holiday!

• Fiesta de las Cruces (Córdoba): a festival celebrating the arrival of spring. Locals make floral crosses and distribute them around the city. A competition chooses the most beautiful displays. Go round the city to watch the locals' songs and dances, and experience the many different scents and colours.
• Feria de Mayo (Córdoba). Corrida, songs, parties, street fairs and dancing are on the programme. Note that some museums and stores shut in the early afternoon so everyone can enjoy the feria.

• Patio Festival (Córdoba), where homes' patios are decked out in flowers. There is a competition to find the most beautiful displays. You can also visit patios that tend to be out of bounds like San Augustin, La Juderia, San Lorenzo and San Basilio. This tradition is so famous, it's been named "Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity" by UNESCO.
• San Fernando (Seville). On 30 May, Seville Cathedral celebrates the city's patron saint.
